Book dedication from 1931

From the frontispiece of the book The Devil’s Camera: Menace of a Film-Ridden World, by R. G. Burnett and E.D. Martell, published in 1931.

It can be read on Archive.org, here. It makes for interesting reading. It can be seen that even back in the 1930s, the movie industry was presenting many bad messages.

Quoted by the authors:

“The white man’s world as revealed in the films: ‘A world of crooks and half-wits, morons and sharpers… A world where men and women have instincts, desires, and emotions, but no thoughts. A world, in brief, from which all that gives the modern West its power … has been left out.’ ” – Aldous Huxley

Free housing for refugees

Brian Chesky, CEO of Airbnb, has criticized President Trump’s “crackdown on immigration” and has offered free housing to refugees and “anyone impacted” the supposed crackdown. Similarly, the very left-wing executives at Starbuck’s have announced plans to hire 10,000 (!) refugees in their overpriced establishments.

By the way: Chesky, like the owners of Starbuck’s, fit the typical pattern: immigrant stock, or is that (((immigrant stock)))? And millennial too, in the case of Chesky.

In the social media, one Tumblr blogger who dared to criticize Chesky’s action was promptly called (by a fellow Tumblr blogger) an ‘ignorant racist’ and told that as Tumblr was a ‘pro-immigration site’, people who dissent from that stance must ‘get off’ Tumblr, followed by other profane and insulting remarks. The conservative blogger who criticized Chesky said simply that while our own veterans are often without housing, people like Chesky ignore them and prefer to morally preen and strut by showing their ‘compassion’ towards unknown third-worlders. As the offending ‘conservative’ lady said, we ought to care for our own first, a viewpoint which was the consensus view up until recent times.

The rhetoric is getting uglier and uglier on internet spots like Tumblr, which is dominated by maleducated, brainwashed millennials, and only one viewpoint is acceptable there. That group of people are the least tolerant, the most totalitarian, of any age group alive today, probably than any group of people in history. The Jacobins in 18th-century France were probably paragons of tolerance compared to the millennials of Western countries. I see some very worrying trends; it seems that the younger leftists (that’s redundant, by the way; they are almost all SJWs, and the fact that there are exceptions does not negate the rule) are allying more and more blatantly with Moslems. I’ve noticed that they are showing signs of not just ‘supporting’ moslems, but actually have an attitude of adulation and admiration towards them. There is a meme going around with an image of our old friend, that lady of easy virtue, Lady Liberty, with her arm around the shoulder of a burka-clad female Moslem, saying “All Are Welcome.” Yes, it’s come to that. I wonder how Jewish Emma Lazarus, who composed that mawkish ‘verse’ at the foot of the Liberty statue about the wretched refuse, etc., would react to this trend? Actually she would probably approve. The enemy of my enemy, etc., and all too often the perceived arch-enemy, as far as Jews are concerned, is the Anglo-American. Anything that damages us and diminishes our power is ‘good for the Jews’, so they believe.

And the left is increasingly stoking the fires of fear on the part of their minority allies/mascots. The media and the brainwashed leftist mobs are repeating this idea endlessly: minorities (especially the poor moslems), including and especially gays and trans-whatever, are in actual physical danger and are experiencing fear and panic, supposedly — fear of the mythical baying mobs of White ‘haters’ and ‘nazis’ who are lurking around every corner. This is more than just irresponsible, this fear-mongering lie. It amounts to a blood-libel against White Americans, promoting the false belief that Whites are out to commit pogroms against minorities, or that they in fact have done such things. I think they half-believe it themselves, having repeated this Big Lie so often.

This is as wrong and unjust and immoral as it can be. Why do we let it pass so often? Each and every person who perpetrates and passes on such lies is responsible for the mayhem that has happened so far, and that includes the malevolent media, and every ignoramus and fanatic on the left who repeats these canards and slanders. All of these miscreants bear some responsibility for violence that has happened, and for the violence that is undoubtedly still to come if they are allowed to persist.

They are inciting to violence. Their intent is to stoke the fires of hatred towards majority America; they smell blood, and they are openly referring to violence. Yet is it our side, despite the restraint we have shown so far, that is slandered as being ‘violent’ and hateful? Lies. More lies.

I was comparing notes with someone on what we are seeing on the Internet, and it seems that there are people posting almost word-for-word certain ideas: these people are posting to their supposed ‘gay and Muslim friends’ that they must be careful, but not be afraid to go out. Supposedly gays and moslems are cowering in fear behind closed doors, afraid to show their faces outdoors lest they be attacked or lynched or something. As if. As if anything remotely like that is happening, or has happened. These people are either delusional, or just paid disinformation agents. I tend towards believing the latter.

And P.S.: I don’t believe that many people, even millennials, have lots of ‘gay and Muslim friends’ at all; gays don’t make up that big a percentage of the population, contra Kinsey and the mendacious gay activists. Nor do Moslems, as of now. But yet everyone has ‘gay and Muslim friends’? Doubtful, to say the least.

Just another day in the realm of the Lie Machine. But we mustn’t shrug it off; things are escalating, and I have a sense of foreboding. We need to be in prayer, and if we’re not the praying kind, we need to do all we can to stop the momentum of the Lie Merchants and the instigators. Some say that President Trump has already done a lot in that respect — and in some ways he has, but he is in fact leading to a kind of coming to a head. And none of us knows exactly how this will play out.

Tech companies for open borders

Amazon and Microsoft, along with other tech companies, are joining in a lawsuit over President Trump’s immigration measures. Bill Gates et al have long been known as double-dyed leftists/globalists.

As for Amazon, I personally have been less inclined to do business with them; I find their business practices not the most advantageous to the average customer, so I now look to buy things elsewhere when I buy online. I also dislike their practice of profiling customers (yes, I know that they all do it, probably). An example: I had bought, some years ago, Andrew Fraser’s book The WASP Question. (I also promised to review it at his request, a promise I’m embarrassed to say I neglected to keep, but that’s another story). In any case, I rarely buy new books online or elsewhere, because there are few new books that are of any interest to me; if I need books on history or any other subject I choose to turn to old books which are sounder and more trustworthy.

So I have bought few new books from Amazon, but I kept getting recommendations for other books they ‘thought’ would interest me. One such book was a book with ‘White Supremacy’ in the title. I wondered how they came up with the idea that I was ‘White Supremacist’, if they were basing that on my history of purchases from them. All I could think of was that the Fraser book, on the ‘WASP Question’ somehow equated to ‘White Supremacy’ according to their twisted reckoning.

Yes, the Amazon people have long been known as politically correct and leftist. I remember when they were boycotted by some for stocking ‘how-to’ books for pedophiles: basically, how to lure children. So Amazon is boycott-worthy as far as I am concerned, and doubly so since their choosing to take a pro-open-borders position and to oppose President Trump.

The linked article also mentions other Seattle-based tech companies that are likewise anti-Trump, and for open borders/globalism. Another like-minded company is Reddit, whose co-founder Alexis Ohanian, says Trump’s measures on immigration are ‘anti-American.’

I’m well-past tired of people (such as people named ‘Ohanian’ or other non-American names) telling me what is ‘American’ and what is not. Shall I go to Armenia and tell them what Armenians should think or what constitutes the ‘Armenian way’? Why is it always someone from a profoundly alien immigrant background lecturing me and people like me about what our country stands for, or should stand for? Or telling me that our traditional, time-honored ways are ”un-American”? I believe there is a certain other ethnic group that refers to this attitude as ‘chutzpah’, a term which implies brazenness and unmitigated gall.

Many immigrants and their descendants (like the Armenian millennial Ohanian and many others of immigrant stock) have been filled so full of fawning propaganda about the noble immigrant and his immeasurable value to America that they have come to believe their own publicity. P.S.: that publicity was nothing more, at least at first, than a patronizing and condescending effort on the part of misguided Americans to make the mendicant newcomers feel ‘included and welcome.’ It was born out of pity for the immigrant. It was simply an early attempt, on the part of some, to impart “self-esteem” to the immigrants, and it backfired on us enormously. The immigrants’ descendants came to believe that their ancestors did America a huge favor by coming here; we original settlers were actually their inferiors. They, the immigrant descendants, are ‘vibrant and colorful’, and oh-so-genuine and exotic, while our ancestors (and we, of course) are dull, bland, ‘white-bread’, plain vanilla, boring, and in desperate need of their enriching presence.

Sad to say, many old-stock Americans have come to believe that pro-immigrant hype, and to be self-abasing and given to sentimentalizing the Ellis Island crowd. That will have to stop if we are ever to regain our rightful primacy and pride in the very real accomplishments of our ancestors.

Boycott all these companies: Microsoft (if possible), Amazon, Reddit, Starbuck’s, all of them.

Is Christianity a suicide cult?

Asks Alfred W. Clark at Occam’s Razor.

The short answer, of course, is Yes.

However, since the question pertains to “Contemporary Christianity”, which is a corruption and perversion of real, historical, Biblical Christianity, it is not true of the latter. We have only to look at Christianity as previous generations of our ancestors understood and practiced it to see that it was not always as it is now. How today’s professing Christians (or ‘churchians’, more accurately, in most cases) can ignore the obvious fact that they practice and preach a ‘Christianity’ differing radically from that of the past, is a mystery to me.

Even some of the more sensible Christians of today have been seduced by this corrupted form of Christianity, this changeling Christianity. For instance I was watching a podcast on Roku by one Christian commentator, whose comments I often find valid and sound, and he was warning against feeling ‘hate’ against the enemies of Christianity or of enemies in general. He said that there are spiritual forces goading us to hate one another, setting us against each other. Yes, as in the oft-quoted passage from Ephesians:

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

As I remember, the gist of the message was that ultimately Satanic powers are pitting us all against each other, so therefore human beings should not be held to account; they are merely being used as pawns in this vast spiritual struggle. I don’t deny that aspect of it; as a Christian and as a Bible-believer, how could I? But the fact is that there are times in which we (Christians and others, too) must fight against human agents of evil in this world. We cannot absolve other human beings of their moral responsibility; they have to be accountable for their actions, whether or not they are being used as dupes of the ‘rulers of darkness in this world.’ If we excuse the human evil-doers on this basis, how do we resist the immediate evils in the physical world which human beings are perpetrating?

This also reminds me of the frequently-heard pleading of many on the “right” when they say that ‘we can’t blame minorities’ (or immigrants, or whoever) for what they do; it’s the elites that are to blame; they are engineering all this. The immigrants/refugees, or whoever are just being used by them. Then this particular commentator said that even those among the lofty ‘global elites’ are not really to blame, and that we mustn’t succumb to hatred — because if we do, we are just doing what the ‘rulers of darkness’, the spiritual forces, want us to do; they want us to sin by hating our brethren. So if we give in to ‘hate’, the enemy will have won.

When did we hear that message for the first time? I remember hearing it repeatedly after 9/11/2o01. If we react with fear or hate, the terrorists will have won. They want us to fear and hate so we are not to fear and hate. We are to go on as before and not give in to these emotions or they will have won.

No. I didn’t accept that message then and even less do I accept it now, even though it may come from a Christian commentator I usually respect.

The very fact that we (meaning Western Christians in general) have largely been too accepting and too willing to trust people we should not trust, too willing to give everybody the benefit of the doubt and ‘tolerate’ everyone and everything is what has brought us to where we are now, with Europe in danger of ethnic/genetic obliteration, and our own country being overrun with people from hostile countries.

And all the while it is this faux Christianity that tells us we must not experience honest, God-given emotions for the just purpose of defending our families, our folk, our Faith, our homes (our national homes as well as individual homes).

As the late Oriana Fallaci wrote:

Haven’t you understood what drives our enemies? What permits them to fight this war against us? The passion! They have passion! They have so much passion that they can die for it!”
[…]”…We have lost passion.

Well, I have not. I boil with passion. I, too, am ready to die for passion. But around me, I see no passion. Even those who hate me and attack me and insult me do this without passion. They are mollusks, not men and women. And a civilization, a culture, cannot survive without passion, cannot be saved without passion. If the West does not wake up, if we do not refind passion, we are lost.”

And the passion that she spoke of includes that very human and natural feeling called ‘hate.’ We’ve been thoroughly conditioned, especially over the last few decades, to think that ‘hate’ in itself is evil, that it is in itself a crime for which we can be prosecuted, discredited, persecuted, imprisoned, and ostracized — depending, of course, on who is the ‘hater’ and who is the ‘hated.’ Liberals/leftists/’progressives’ openly and vociferously hate everybody who does not agree with their dogmatic ideas, and they posture as being the superiors of those they hate and harass. Minorities of various kinds can and do hate and openly attack and kill the targets of their hate, and they are put on a pedestal of righteousness for doing so. It is truly only Whites, and most especially Christians, who are warned against ‘hate’ and punished for supposedly ‘hating’ when in fact they may only be stating a fact or voicing a just criticism.

But as to ‘hate’ itself being un-Christian, or a sin per se, it is not, though the members of the changeling ‘Christian’ suicide cult may tell us that it is a sin and an abomination.

One need only take up a concordance or look up every instance of the word ‘hate’ in the Bible to find that among other things, God says there is a ‘time to love and a time to hate’. Surely it’s possible that is is ‘time to hate’ when someone endangers and threatens those we love, and everything that we value, cherish and stand for. But, but, can’t we fight for our families, our homes, our way of life, our property without hating? Surely we’re supposed to love our enemies? However, when it comes to fighting for our lives or those of our loved ones, we have to muster up the passion, the feeling, the energy to do that; try loving someone while you are having to defend yourself with force. Can the soldier in battle be ‘loving his enemy’ while he is in a life-or-death situation? When it’s him or the one threatening his life? Loving one’s enemy has traditionally been interpreted as referring to personal enemies, not enemies in wartime, invaders, homebreakers. And those with self-righteous pacifist tendencies may have a right to sacrifice themselves while feeling virtuous, but they have no moral right to sacrifice other innocent lives so as to feel oh-so-moral.

And this is what the cult-of-niceness Christian suicide cult would have us do.

Quebec City shootings

On the shootings at a mosque in Quebec, the usual dishonesty of Reuters/AP and their like is shown in this article, with its mentions of ‘Islamophobia’ and hate crimes. They would like it to be another ‘hate crime’ done by Whites; much of the news coverage insinuates that it was done by French-speaking Quebecois. Meanwhile, if the following unverified information is true, you can be sure the media will be very slow and very reluctant in reporting it.

The media will then have to find some way to whitewash the facts or sweep them under the rug, but not to worry, they are very experienced at that.

I’m impressed

I’ve been pleased with how busy President Trump has been since he took office. I can’t say I was one of those reluctant Trump voters who said they didn’t believe he would follow through on his promises, so I haven’t been surprised at his actions once he was in office. But this Executive Order impresses me; it’s a very sound idea, something that would have been done years, no, decades ago in a sane world. It’s only common sense, and it’s basic to what the role of government was meant to be in this country, that is, if we are to take the Founding Fathers’ intentions seriously.

“To better inform the public regarding the public safety threats associated with sanctuary jurisdictions, the Secretary shall utilize the Declined Detainer Outcome Report or its equivalent and, on a weekly basis, make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens and any jurisdiction that ignored or otherwise failed to honor any detainers with respect to such aliens,” the order reads.

The Executive Order also states that to “promote the transparency and situational awareness of criminal aliens in the United States,” the Secretary and the Attorney General are hereby directed to collect relevant data and provide quarterly reports on the “immigration status of all aliens incarcerated under the supervision of the Federal Bureau of Prisons; the immigration status of all aliens incarcerated as Federal pretrial detainees under the supervision of the United States Marshals Service; and the immigration status of all convicted aliens incarcerated in State prisons and local detention centers throughout the United States.”

Yes, I know I’m a ”glass-half-empty” kind of person, always hoping for the best possible outcome rather than half-measures, always wanting things to be done now, at once, not incrementally. And I don’t want to diminish the credit due to Trump for signing this order. But it would be nice if they would include ‘legal aliens’, people who have valid visas but who are not yet citizens. Or how about giving statistics on all immigrants involved in felonies? It would give us an idea of the real ‘value’ of immigration. So many Americans have been ingrained with the idea that ‘legal immigrants’ wear halos, and that legal=good, while only illegal immigrants are a problem in any way. For the last couple of decades that’s been one of my aims: getting people to see that we need to examine immigration in general, all immigration, not just the illegal kind.

But this is a start; it’s much needed and President Trump deserves kudos for this.

Just a heads-up

My former domain name at vanishingamericanII.com is no longer valid; I let the domain name go, being uncertain about the future of this blog, but of course you can continue to access it at vanishingamericanII.wordpress.com, as always. So if you have this blog bookmarked, be sure it is the wordpress.com address.

In other blog business I notice that with the re-vamp of Hunter Wallace’s Original Dissent blog, my link is gone from the blogroll. That could be because of my long inactivity, but then I don’t think Hunter/Brad would notice as I don’t think he reads this blog, so it may be I was dropped for other reasons: philosophical differences, or whatever. C’est la vie, I guess.

Which God? Which America?

I’ve been out of touch with what passes for news lately, though I can’t avoid hearing what people are saying in the ‘real world.’ More pressing concerns closer to home have had me preoccupied these last couple of months, and that’s part of the reason for my lack of activity here.

When  I was searching for a live discussion thread on the Inaugural ceremonies I found that Free Republic seemed to be down. I wondered if the usual suspects were behind that or if they were just overwhelmed by the numbers of people who, like me, were looking for live coverage and discussion. And no, I couldn’t access C-Span coverage either.

Online, wherever the lefties (especially the young ones) were hanging out, there was a real fawn-fest going on, with everybody seeming to be teary-eyed over the exit of their Idol from the White House. Now, these are people who are not usually likely to invoke ‘God’, and they usually choke on the word ‘America’ but they were asking God to ‘bless America’. That phony piety was enough to make me choke, but I had to ask just which God are they invoking? And just which ‘America’ are they asking their god to ‘bless’? Certainly not the same God as the one I serve, and the America they are asking a blessing on is not my America, and not in fact the historic nation (and people) known as America.

The lefties in their various mutated forms  (and they are not the left of the old days) no longer inhabit the same universe as the rest of us, and I don’t know how this can all be resolved without a great deal of turmoil and upheaval, most of which they seem to be courting and lusting after. But it must be resolved one way or another; the present state of affairs can’t continue as it is now. I think most people sense that, even if they don’t “know” it.

I realize these are not original observations by any means; I don’t seem to have much wisdom or wit to impart. I do hope I can somehow get back in the swing of blogging provided somebody wants to read my ramblings, but there are still personal concerns that claim most of my time and attention. But if good intentions matter, maybe I will get back to blogging regularly.
